A Jikes! shout-out goes to the Cincinnati Dealer, who put up an unsolicited link to Jikes!, apparently just because we have a neat logo. Hopefully, once the Dealer-ites over there get hooked up to Google Video and look at some of our skits (helpfully linked to over there on the right), they won't change their mind about being linked to us. Thanks, y'all!

Also, for those interested in more things Jikes!, check out this week's issue of Cin Weekly, which features an article (page 37ish) about the 48 Hour Film Project and the upcoming Best of Cincinnati Film Festival next Wednesday. If you come, you can (most likely) see our film, the Audience-award-winning The Little White Ball. Also, the article features an awesomely lame quote from one of the Mikes and some Jikes! mugging for the camera.

Last Night's Show

Lindsay Mickles from the Midpoint Music Festival was our guest on last night's show. The festival is the best argument against the claim that Cincinnati is incredibly lame. (The festival's music schedule is here).

If you missed Jikes! last night, that's okay--the show will air again this Saturday at 11 pm, next Tuesday at 7 pm, and then the following Saturday at 11 pm. If you don't watch one of those showings, then you are incredibly lame.

A new episode of Jikes! will air Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at 7 pm. Our musical guest will be Pale Beneath the Blue.

New Episode on September 6, 2005

I know, I know--you can't wait for the fourth episode of Jikes! Believe me, you're one of many . . . that are sick of Episode Three reruns. Well, you're in luck. A new episode will air on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 7 pm on Channel 21 in Northern Kentucky.

Our guest will be a representative from the Midpoint Music Festival, which takes place September 21-24. The Midpoint Music Festival is one of the coolest things about Cincinnati. It's also a major reason that Esquire Magazine named Cincinnati the 7th most Rockingest city in America. (It sure as heck wasn't because of Greg Dulli. That said, we'd love to have Mr. Dulli as a guest on Jikes!).

New Time, Same Great Show

Just a reminder (maybe we never announced it) . . . but Jikes! reruns now air on Saturdays at 11 pm, (in addition to Tuesdays at 7 pm). No more midnight timeslot for Jikes! Now you can watch Jikes! before you watch the much less funny Saturday Night Live.

New Video Clips

We have uploaded a couple of additional video clips. The first is a high-resolution version of our opening theme.

The second . . . well, although Jikes! isn't normally a show about politics, we couldn't let a certain influential election-year film pass without commentary. In this film that we all heard so much about, the extremely heavyset central figure sniffs out conspiracies concocted by his political opponents and reveals them to his audience in an attempt to defeat and embarrass his enemies in the imminent election. Though surprisingly successful at the box office, the film was attacked by critics as hackneyed and contrived, and the rolly-polly main character was condemned by some as over-the-top in the way he appeared at times to sacrifice substance for empty, almost cartoonish entertainment. The film, of course, is Black Sheep, starring Chris Farley and David Spade. But apparently someone also made a movie called Fahrenheit 9/11, and here's a clip about that.

Sometimes Google Video is a bit flakey, so if the clip doesn't show up, check back later.

But Jikes! is. That's right, starting August 16 our show premieres LIVE every other Tuesday. No more repeat takes. No more bleeping. No more airbrushes. You see and hear every grimace, every chuckle, and every stupid joke as soon as it happens.

After delays rivaling O'Hare flight schedules and some Dave-Chappelle-like incidents featuring trips to an asylum in South Africa, which allow us to claim the title of The World's Slowest Public Access Television Show, Episode Two will finally air on August 2. No, seriously. (And not to get your hopes up, but Episode Three should then air August 9 LIVE!) Yowsa.

Also, for those of you interested in all things Jikes!, we are proud to announce that Jikes! managed to take home the Group B Audience Award at the 48 Hour Film Project Cincinnati for our mockumentary, "The Little White Ball." We are overwhelmed, but will also keep you posted about any further TLWB developments....

In what can only be described as a "coup," Jikes! has wrangled Josh Flowers as our first guest.

Yes, that Josh Flowers, the one with the floppy hair and off-beat sense of humor that hosted our predecessor in the Tuesday, 7 p.m., Insight Cable Channel 21 time-slot. I know, we couldn't believe it either.

So, all you JFS fans, check out the premiere of Jikes! on June 21st at 7 and find out what Josh has been up to since he left public-access television.

Well, we are sad to report that the Jikes! premiere has been bumped for one week until June 21, because of some "government" thing that gets to take precedence over entertainment.

But, you can wait one week, can't you?

What we can tell you, though, is that the first show is chock-full of funny stuff, and that we begin our regular recording schedule in July. After that, you'll get a bi-weekly supply of Jikes! until the well runs dry.

Jikes! Premiere

Maybe you've watched one of the Josh Flowers "best-of" shows and seen the Jikes! promos, or you've heard the Jikes! buzz around town, or you've seen three goofy guys in suits filming stuff around town, and you've wondered to yourself, "Self, when is the Jikes! premiere? I can barely wait!"

The wait is nearly over. Jikes! will premiere June 14 at 7:00 p.m., on Insight Cable Channel 21. Catch it before it catches you.
